Advance Rockhampton – copywriting for economic development

As a panel supplier to Rockhampton Regional Council, Joyful Communications supports the marketing and communications activities of Advance Rockhampton, Council’s key economic and tourism development agency.

We’re always keen to dive into diverse projects including website refreshes, newsletter promotions, and brochure production.

Projects have included:

• Writing the Resources Masterplan from start to finish in just a 4-week turnaround (over the Christmas period)
• Helping to restructure and rewrite the Live Rockhampton website, tapping into our firsthand knowledge of why Rockhampton is an incredible place to live, raise a family and build a business
• Writing the Advance Rockhampton e-Newsletter for over 12 months, while in-house capacity was reduced
• Helping to promote Rockhampton’s involvement in hosting the National Economic Development Conference in 2018

We’ve even learned a few things about our famous Fitzroy river, as we helped to produce content for the Fishing the Fitzroy campaign.

Bank vaults, heritage listings and bridges

We were contracted in 2017 to edit and rewrite historical content for an app, developed by Rockhampton Regional Promotions to drive tourism around Central Queensland’s historical sites. As long-time Rockhampton locals, this project was both fun and challenging for Joyful Communications.

With hundreds of pages of dry historical information to distill down to fun, bite-sized facts and FAQ’s, the project was delivered on time and in budget. Sarah-Joy now considers herself somewhat of an expert in Rockhampton’s history, and frequently annoys friends and family with random ‘Did You Know’ moments around town.
